Spiritual Seeking in Entrepreneurs
Note: The word “spiritual” in this article doesn’t refer to any “religion” in any shape or form.
I consider myself an “Entrepreneur”.
By definition, Entrepreneur means someone who starts a business taking a financial risk. As of now, researchers have found “Entrepreneurship” is more than that.
You don’t just call a retail shop owner, an Entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship is something different. And most of the Entrepreneurs seek spiritual knowledge and use the knowledge to further enhance their life and the lives of people across the globe, I wouldn’t say everyone but most of them.
The eminence of Spiritual Seeking can be seen in many ways, shape and form in successful and aspiring Entrepreneurs. For example, Bill Gates considers Meditation his favorite habit, Steve Jobs is known to have studied Buddhism and practiced meditation on a regular basis.
Similarly, Oprah Winfrey is a well-known spiritually aligned person who also is a popular billionaire.
I can give a lot of examples, which will show you many Entrepreneurs do have some kind of spiritual seeking within them. Why is this so?
Let’s look at the science behind this.
Entrepreneurs are scientifically known for their 3 major characteristics, though there are more, i.e. Risk Takers, Innovators, and Action Takers.
If we take all these into consideration, we will see that all of the 3 factors have 1 thing in common and that is, they “SEEK” to enhance their current situation.
Entrepreneurs help bring “CHANGE” by SEEKING more than that of their limits.
Bill Gates helped revolutionized the way people used to see personal computers. Steve Jobs helped change the way people use their phones.
So, long story short, Entrepreneurs seek for change. They seek for more than what they have and are willing to do whatever it takes to do so.
When doing so, Entrepreneurs comes so close to the concept of Spirituality. Because spirituality simply means going beyond what human senses are capable of.
Spirituality deals with the non-physical aspect of oneself.
In more funny and layman’s term I say, spirituality is like an aspect dealing with “software” of human body.
Just like, a computer without software concept is just a hunks of plastic, similarly a human without spirituality is just a hunk of flesh. Now, it can differ, how you describe spirituality, some people believe it as “emotions” some as “energy”, and some as “characters”, whatever the name, the concept is same.
When that energy/emotion/character/spirit of a person is gone, we usually bury them in graveyard or cremate them.
So, all the Entrepreneurs, being people who seek for more, are found to seek spiritual knowledge too.
And for me, I don’t know about others, Spirituality has really helped shape the person I am today. It gives you new perspectives to see things.
Some people have also shared that they have benefited from Spiritual seeking. That is because, it enhances a person’s compassion, love and forgiveness towards other creatures and beings. Also, it shows the reality hidden within you.
Though science has not yet figured much about “Spirituality”, we cannot state it as something which is not. Instead we should put this in our next list of research and experimentation.
Science hasn’t figured out many things in detail such as, universe, other solar systems on a bigger level and atoms and quantum physics in more smaller scale.
But nevertheless, if we look at spirituality, it basically is understanding ourselves in a detailed way. That simply is spirituality, it’s not about finding your soul and making sure it lands in heaven after death. It is about SEEKING, it is about FINDING MORE, and it is about EXPLORING ones’ limits and going beyond those limitations that we as a human being wield. Because of these traits Spiritual Seeking has been found in many Entrepreneurs across the globe.
Note: Spirituality is not a “necessary” factor to be successful or Entrepreneur, but it sure is something that can help in better understanding of life.
